Sky on Fire

Sweetness and I made a decision early on when we got married that it was to our benefit to stay close to home and start our family out in the rural areas of Northern Indiana. Yes, to move to a larger town offered a lot of attractive benefits like better restaurants and more things to do for a young couple. But thinking long term we felt it best to start here and stay here to raise kids close to family.
It makes for a long drive to work and, during this time of year that can bring about the extra challenges of dealing with the snow. But one of the great benefits that drive offers is the chance to witness some truly beautiful sunsets in some picturesque settings. When I can I try to capture them with my camera but no matter how many times I shoot it nor how many times I adjust the settings I can never capture the full beauty some of these sunsets deliver.
I’ve called on friends before who live”in town”and said, “wow, can you believe this sunset”? Only to hear them reply”what sunset, it’s dark here”? And that’s when I realize that although we sometimes get stuck paying more for gas or groceries because of where we live I get the benefit of some priceless eye candy thanks to the generosity of Mother Nature.

I love the creative process of Architecture (and tolerate the administrative end of the process), golf as often as my family will allow, and enjoy nature photography.
